Here
is a collection of short stories from three eccentric Japanese horror
directors. Part one, Rattle Rattle [director Keita Amemiya] features
a young woman pursued by an evil alien being. The second story, Steel
[director Takuji Suzuki] is a meanspiritedtale of a young man who
agrees to take his boss' sister on a blind date with unexpected consequences.
The final episode, The Inheritance [director Keisuke Toyashima],
is a supernatural tale of a woman and her young son, who cannot escape
the trauma of psychological abuse.
Keita
Amemiya began as a scriptwriter for the 1986-89 TV series Liegui
Aisha [Spirit Chaser Aisha], and then found success as a director
for Zeiram and various Kamen Mask films in
the mid '90s. His most accomplished project [to date] has been the Garo
television series and the accompanying GARO:
RED REQUIEM movie. This is the first major film for actor-turned-director
Takuji Suzuki. He starred in 40+ movies since 1996 including the cult
hits SNAKE
OF JUNE, EXPLOSIVE
CITY and NIGHTMARE
DETECTIVE. The third filmmaker here is Keisuke Toyoshima, a man
who worked as assistant director for Takashi Shimizu on classic Japanese
horror like GRUDGE
